Outstanding Quotes on the Topic of Standing Firm upon Biblical Truth

 Sadly, it is all too common in our day for people to shirk away from proclaiming and living Biblical truth because they are afraid to offend someone, to lose a friendship, to be thought of as weird or archaic, etc. How tragic! Take, for instance, what the great men Dr. Martin Luther and Mr. J.C. Ryle had to say on this topic:

"Cursed be any love or unity for whose sake the Word of God must be put at stake."

~Martin Luther

"To maintain pure truth in the church, we should be ready to make any sacrifice, to hazard peace, to risk dissension and run the chance of division."
~J.C. Ryle

How very true and very convicting, isn't it?

A Great Reminder....

‎"Whatever ability a faithful Christian may possess, he ought to possess it for his fellow believers, and he ought to make his own interest subservient to the well-being of the church in all sincerity."
- John Calvin

Scenes From the 4th......

"America needs God more than God needs America. If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a Nation gone under."

~Ronald Reagan

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor."
~George Washington
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

~John Adams

"I've lived, sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth: That God governs in the affairs of men. If a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? We've been assured in the sacred writings that unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it."

~Benjamin Franklin

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever."
~Thomas Jefferson
How Very True!
"Feminism is mixed up with a muddled idea that women are free when they serve their employers but slaves when they help their husbands."
The immense influence women have upon a nation!
I find the late President John Adams to be the writer of much truth and wisdom in this excerpt from his autobiography: (note-capitals, incorrect punctuation and spelling in the original)
"From all that I had read of History of Government, of human life and manners, I had drawn this Conclusion, that the manners of Women were the most infallible Barometer, to ascertain the degree of Morality and Virtue in a Nation. All that I have since read and all the observations I have made in different Nations, have confirmed me in this opinion. The Manners of Women, are the surest Criterion by which to determine whether a Republican Government is practicable, in a Nation or not. The Jews, the Greeks, the Romans, the Swiss, the Dutch, all lost their public Spirit, their Republican Principles and habits, and their Republican Forms of Government. when they lost the Modesty and Domestic Virtues of their Women.......
The foundations of national Morality must be laid in private Families. In vain are Schools Accademies and universities instituted, if loose Principles and licentious habits are impressed upon Children in their earliest years. The Mothers are the earliest and most important Instructors of youth....The Vices and Examples of the Parents cannot be concealed from the Children. How is it possible that Children can have any just Sense of the sacred Obligations of Morality and Religion if, from their earliest Infancy, they learn that their Mothers live in habitual Infidelity to their fathers, and their fathers in constant Infidelity to their Mothers."
~quoted in Christianity and the Constitution by Mr. John Eidsmoe
Ladies, may we truly live up to these words of wisdom, and seek to have a reforming affect on our wicked nation(wherever we may live)!
