Please Pray!

I just came across this heart-wrenching article on the tragedy that just struck the Stephen Curtis Chapman family.

I'm saddened beyond words, and my heart goes out to this poor family-especially the oldest son.

Please pray for this family, that the Lord would comfort them and give them the peace that passes all understanding. Thank you for praying for them! I'm sure they covet your loving prayers.

  1. Thanks. This is very sorrowful, and the big brother will carry this until the burden is lifted by eternity. I will pray for them.

  4. Thank you all so very much for your prayers for this hurting family. You're all so right. This is all part of God's plan and will somehow bring this family good. One wonderful thing to come from this: little Maria is now with Jesus! :) :)

  5. One of my favorite poems is by the poet Tennyson, and he asks someone to be near him, over and over again, as he describes the despair of losing his best friend and feeling as if there is no God and life is meaningless. I believe this poem may be addressed to God, and it changed my outlook on prayer. Now the prayer I probably pray the most is "Be near me." or "Be near them." That's all. And that is the most we could ever ask for ourselves, for the unbelievers around us, and our fellow believers like the Chapman family, for God to be with us and them. Think about it. Could we really ask for anything more? All that we could want is contained in this prayer. So let us pray God will be near our brothers and sisters, for wherever He is, despair can't be ...

  6. It certainly is a tragedy!! I didn't know which brother was driving the car (how did anybody find out?) I am especially praying for him. He will be carrying this for a long time, though it wasn't his fault.

God has a purpose in it all, though it is hard to find!
