Monday's Devotional

Hello, ladies!! I pray that all of you had a wonderful weekend, and a restful, blessed Lord's Day!

For the devotional today, we're going to be doing something a little different.

The following is one of my very favorite songs. I want you to meditate on its lyrics; just soak in the amazing truths found in this beautiful song.

What Wondrous Love Is This?

What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this
That caused the Lord of bliss
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul,
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul!

When I was sinking down, sinking down, sinking down,
When I was sinking down, sinking down,
When I was sinking down
Beneath God’s righteous frown,
Christ laid aside His crown for my soul for my soul,
Christ laid aside His crown for my soul.

To God and to the Lamb I will sing, I will sing;
To God and to the Lamb I will sing;
To God and to the Lamb, Who is the great I AM,
While millions join the theme, I will sing, I will sing,
While millions join the theme, I will sing.

And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on;
And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on.
And when from death I’m free
I’ll sing His love for me,
And through eternity I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on,
And through eternity I’ll sing on.

God's love absolutely amazes me! Just stop and think a minute on how amazing His love is. We were enemies of His; we were vile, wretched, wicked, impure sinners. And He is a pure, holy, righteous, perfect God that cannot stand to be even in the presence of sin. Yet He came down from heaven to die the most agonizing death imaginable, so that we would spend eternity with Him in heaven. That's amazing! Why would He, a righteous, just, holy God, want to spend eternity with us?? It's truly amazing isn't it? What wondrous love is this!
