First Devotional!! =)
"Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
~1 Corinthians 10:31(NKJV)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One thing that my father always reminds us is that every single thing we do during the day should be glorifying to the Lord. This is something that we must remember as we go throughout our busy days. We have been bought with a price, and so it is therefore our duty to bring glory and honor to our Savior in all that we do, think or say.
Throughout your day, ask yourself questions such as: "Are the TV shows and movies I'm watching glorifying to God?", "Are the books I'm reading and the music I'm listening to bringing praise and honor to Christ?", "Are the thoughts I think, words I say, and deeds I do bringing glory to my Savior as they ought to be?" Daily, we must also examine ourselves to see whether or not the way we're treating our family is praiseworthy.
Titus 2:5 says that we, as ladies, must be discreet and chaste, or else God's Word will be blasphemed. We must continually check our thoughts, words, and actions against Scripture to see whether or not they are chaste and holy or sinful and impure. We also must always try to remember to act in a discreet, modest and ladylike way, in order to bring glory to Christ, so that His Word will not be blasphemed.
When you make mistakes throughout the day, do you take the time to go before the Lord in prayer in order to ask for His forgiveness? As sinners, there will be times throughout the day when we do things that are not glorifying to God. So it is vitally important that we pray and ask for forgiveness and the strength to do better next time-so that in all things, we may bring glory to Christ!
