New dress!
My mama and I took a trip to the local thrift store yesterday(and let me tell you, it's huge!), and really had a wonderful time together. While there, among other things, I found this beautiful tan jumper/dress. I just love it-it's so modest, feminine, and very comfortable! It's also in like new condition; thrift stores really are a blessing-you can oftentimes find really nice clothing items for very low prices. For instance, this pretty dress only cost around $3! I just love how it has a fitted bodice, but then flares out and becomes flowy near the bottom!

ReplyDeleteHave a blessed weekend,

It's very nice, probably the pretties jumper I've seen! I enjoy finding good deals such as these!
ReplyDeleteRebekah, looks like a wonderful find! I hope to find something like that for my small collection. It looks like it was made for you! Hope you are doing well!
ReplyDeleteI love thrift store shopping! We've found if it is possible to find modest clothing there, it's cheaper than sewing it! (I do like sewing long, modest skirts though!) It is a beautiful jumper; I haven't seen one like that before. (just the straight ones like I own)
ReplyDeleteAnna Naomi,
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you so much!! That is so sweet of you! I am so pleased with it! I'm wearing it for the first time today(as I only got it just yesterday =]) and it is SO comfortable! I just love it!!! It is so pretty, feminine and modest, and I just feel so blessed to have found it! Oh, my Mama and I really love to find good deals like this; we thoroughly enjoy our trips to thrift stores!! ;)

Thank you so much for your comment! I hope you find something, too! That would be wonderful! I'm sure you will, and when you do, you'll have to let me know all about it and send me a pic as well! :) Aw, thank you so much!! Honestly, I couldn't be happier with the fit! I've never been able to find anything before that actually fits me so well!! It's truly a blessing. I'm doing well. :) Thank you, and I hope you and your husband are doing well, too! Have a blessed weekend!! :)

Allison,
So do I!!! It's so much fun!! And it's great mother/daughter time as well, and it teaches me frugality, which I will very much need as a homemaker of my own one day. It's a very valuable lesson to learn! That's for sure. Yes, that's true! I love sewing my own things but it's a blessing to find them so cheap and in as good condition at thrift stores! What patterns do you used for long, modest skirts? What I would really really love to find is a pattern somewhere that I could use to make myself a skirt(s) just like the ones the women wore on Little House on the Prairie. I just love those!! They're so modest, distinctly feminine, and so flowy, with a lot of fabric (which I really like! =]). I just don't know where to find a pattern like that..... Do you have any ideas? Thank you! I,too, have only ever owned the straight ones, and I really love those, but I really really love this one because I enjoy wearing more flowy things.
Wow it a very nice dress I love the flair botton!
ReplyDeleteRebekah,
ReplyDeleteWell, my Granny taught my sister and me sewing "basics" last summer, and we made a simple elastic skirt. I love the pattern though because it's so easy! It is a Butterick B5431, and we made skirt B. It's not a straight skirt, which I like. I tried starting to sew a Sense and Sensibility dress, which was a great increase in difficulty from a skirt, and it didn't get completed because I got stuck. :( I would love to be able to sew more! I especially want to be able to sew those cute little girl jumpers for my daughters, at a length below the knee! :) I too like skirts and dresses that flow out. (they're usually more comfy anyway) And it's easier to do stuff when after church we're playing games or watching little ones! :)
What a beautiful jumper!! It looks really pretty on you. I love the orange top underneath, it's a perfect modest outfit! That was a really good deal!
ReplyDeleteBekah=)
I love your new dress - I *love* dresses/jumpers of that type, with a blouse or t-shirt to wear underneath. I bought one for myself not long ago too!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy going to thrift stores as well. :) Your new jumper is lovely!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your comments on my blog. :)
Blessings in Christ,
