Feminism: All About Choice?

So many women today believe that Feminism and "Women's Rights" is all about choices for women. Is that so? Well, consider with me if you will, the following quotes from leading feminists themselves:

"Being a housewife is an illegitimate profession...The choice to serve and be protected and plan towards being a family-maker is a choice that shouldn't be. The heart of radical feminism is to change that." ~Vivian Gornick

"As long as the family and the myth of the family and the myth of maternity and the maternal instinct are not destroyed, women will still be oppressed.... No woman should be authorized to stay at home and raise her children. Society should be totally different. Women should not have that choice, precisely because if there is such a choice, too many women will make that one. It is a way of forcing women in a certain direction.” ~ Simone de Beauvoir

I think it is quite clear from the above quotes that feminism is not about choices for women!! It is about enslaving them and making them into wage slaves, by having them out in the workforce. For a wonderful essay on this subject, please click here.

  1. actually, feminism is about empowering women to be who they want, and have an equal opportunity to compete in the workforce with men....if they want to. OR, to stay home and raise families....if they want to.

certainly you would agree women should be educated and capable of taking care of themselves should they never find a husband or get married, right?
